Location: This is an on-site position 5 days a week at our Administration office in Tampa, FL.

What You’ll be Doing?
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Assist with preparation of annual audited financial statements, IRS Form 990, and cost reports.
- Ensure proper tracking and reporting of restricted/unrestricted funds.
- Review grant billings and expenditure reports for accuracy and compliance with funder requirements (HUD, SAMHSA, state and local contracts).
- Support program managers with budget-to-actual reporting and grant spending analysis.
- Oversee processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and credit card transactions.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections and reconciliation of Medicaid, insurance, and grant reimbursements.
- Ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses to grants, programs, and cost centers.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls over financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and other government regulations.
- Assist with developing and updating accounting policies and procedures.
- Review payroll entries, benefit allocations, and accruals for accuracy.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and ensure proper grant allocations of personnel costs.
- May supervise and support accounting staff (accounts payable, receivable, or billing specialists as assigned).
- Provide training and guidance to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial practices.
- Collaborate with HR, Grants, and Program leadership to resolve financial questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What is Required?
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit and grant-funded programs.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and OMB Uniform Guidance.
- Ability to pass Federal, State, Local Law and Level 2 background clearances.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, MIP, Blackbaud, or similar).
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across finance, HR, and operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working on a computer screen.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
