Clinical Supervisor

Characteristics of Position:

The Clinical Supervisor guide the quality of clinical services provided to person's served at a long term adult residential treatment setting for those with substance and/or co-occurring mental health disorders. In addition to providing direct services, this individual will provide day-to-day clinical oversight for service delivery by other team members assigned to the program. 

Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for quality assurance in the unit's service delivery including clinical care and documentation.
  • Adheres to agency's policies and procedures and its code of ethics and complies with licensure, accreditation, and other relevant certification entities.
  • Carries out all duties in accordance with program and/or licensure policies, procedures and established time frames.
  • Provides individual, group and family counseling
  • Develops and maintains treatment plans and progress notes specific to individual client needs
  • Participates on multi-disciplinary staff meetings ensuring clients receive appropriate treatment,  referrals and/or linkage to services
  • Utilizes Electronic Health Record (EHR) for preparation and maintenance of client service documents.
  • Recommends changes to improve program service delivery and implements changes and new programming.
  • Serves as the qualified professional to review and countersign clinical documents
  • Provides clinical guidance and supervision to counselors, therapists, nursing and/or direct service staff
  • Assists in the review and development of clinical policies, procedures and guidelines for provision of services to assure compliance with all levels of regulations
  • Serves on agency committees, work groups, and other bodies.
  • Provides field instruction for students in his or her respective professional discipline as opportunities permit.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Pre-requisite Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a human services setting
  • Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) 
  • Licensed as a Qualified Supervisor with the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling
  • Must be able to fully participate in physical crisis intervention training
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License

Supervision:  Work is performed under the direction of the Program Director. This position provides direct and/or clinical supervision to counselors, therapists, interns and/or other direct service staff. . 

Physical /Safety/Health Considerations:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • May be subject to potentially dangerous situations/consumers.

Travel: Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to other ACTS locations and offsite meetings
