A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field is required for this position. This position is located at one of our residential programs in Tampa, FL.
Characteristics of Position:
This is a professional clinical position in a human services agency providing counseling services to those affected by substance abuse, mental health, chronic homelessness and/or criminal justice involvement.
Core Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Performs admission screenings for persons served to determine appropriate level of care needed.
- Performs admissions ensuring completion of proper documentation and explanations of rights of persons served.
- Provides counseling services including, but not limited to psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family counseling, development and updating of treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Provides referral or linkage services to ensure needs of persons served are met.
- Utilizes Electronic Health Record to document clinical service delivery.
- Observes clients for behavioral changes and progress in treatment.
- Communicates with persons served empathetically and engages them to talk about their substance abuse, mental health, homelessness and/or criminal justice involvement.
- Communicates with legal guardians, family members, case managers and/or court administration related to treatment progress.
- Adheres to regulatory bodies and licensing rules, guidelines and established protocols to carry out all duties required by contract, licensure, accreditation, and certification.
- Complies with confidentiality standards.
- Participates in peer review and provides direction and professional development to direct care team, as appropriate.
- Performs related work as required /assigned.
Pre-requisite Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a counseling discipline- social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field.
- Valid Florida Driver License
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience in behavioral health services
- Certified Addictions Professional (CAP)
Physical /Safety/Health Considerations: Standing, walking, carrying, stooping, speaking, and listening. Must be physically able to participate in crisis intervention and CRP/First Aid training and apply techniques to work setting, as needed.
Supervision: This position does not provide supervision to others, and reports to the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor.
