Salary Range: $16.00-$17.75/hr.

Location: This is an on-site position located at the Polk County Juvenile Assessment Center in Bartow, FL.

What You'll be Doing?

  • Professionally greets visitors and individuals served, including their parents/guardians, while providing basic education and initial orientation to ACTS services; maintains daily visitation log.
  • Answers telephones and daily inquiries regarding scope of services. Schedules intakes or links to appropriate service department.
  • Review detention screening packets for identification of youth in need of assessment, intervention or prevention services. Schedule or link to services, as needed.
  • Prepares and reviews juvenile court packets for courts, attorneys, and/or detention facilities.
  • Provides assessment and prevention services and documents services rendered and recommendations in the electronic health record.
  • Utilizes DJJ software and database to conduct youth searches and third-party contact information.
  • Completes monthly program reports related to service delivery, census, and applicable billing.
  • Observes youth as they complete screening tools, and contacts parents/guardians to obtain additional screening information.
  • Monitors control room by observing youth in holding area and allow authorized personnel access to secured areas.
  • Assists with gathering and preparation of kits, packets, and meals for the pick-up and/or delivery of items to the courthouse, detention facility, or Department of Juvenile Justice office.
  • Oversee inventory of daily operational needs and coordinates purchasing with accounting department.
  • Coordinates maintenance needs and building access with property management and vendors.
  • May take notes and summaries of program meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What is Required?

  • A high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Physically able to participate in DJJ-approved crisis intervention curriculum and CPR/First Aid training and able to apply same to work setting.
  • Ability to pass Federal, State, Local Law and Level 2 background clearances.
  • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Direct client contact in a secure setting should also be expected.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Valid Florida Driver License.
  • Minimal travel to the courthouse, detention facility, or Department of Juvenile Justice office should be expected. Overnight travel is not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in support of the agency mission and goals.
  • Ability to handle protected health information in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to use technology for scheduling, client records, and service billing.
