Rehabilitation Specialist

Location: Tampa, FL

Monday through Friday - from 8:30a to 4:30p


Characteristics of Position:

The Rehabilitation Specialist supports members, identified as having mental health challenges, with work-readiness, social skills, building relationships, and identifying member goals through Clubhouse activities and on-the-job training. They adhere to Clubhouse International standards. These are hands-on roles that involve training and coaching both at the Clubhouse and in community-based employment settings. Experience with mental illness or disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hands-on preparation of healthy meal options (breakfast and lunch)
  • Knowledge of procedures and standards for Safety and Sanitation
  • Work side-by-side with Clubhouse members (adults living with disabilities) in all aspects of culinary operations: menu planning, inventory, purchasing, meal preparation, service, food safety, sanitation and clean-up
  • Co-manage Clubhouse kitchen and dining room
  • Role model professional workplace behaviors, attitudes and relationships
  • Operate computers, cash register, electronic devices and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Implement menus that align with the nutritional guidelines that enhance the overall health and well-being of our members and guests
  • Assume additional vocational rehabilitation responsibilities, as assigned
  • Help members explore vocational training and employment opportunities with the culinary arts
  • Additional duties as assigned and deemed necessary for the betterment and growth of the organization


Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in human services related field
  • Minimum (3) years of professional experience working with adults in behavioral health setting.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a level 2 background check


Expected Hours of Work:

  • Monday through Friday - from 8:30a to 4:30p.
  • Occasional weekend and/or holiday assignment


Travel: Occasional travel to assist members with training
