Position Overview:

ACTS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring financial stability, and supporting the strategic growth of ACTS. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in nonprofit financial management and a passion for community service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with ACTS's mission and both short/long-term goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Fundraising Support: Work closely with the Development team to provide financial insights and support for grant applications, donor reporting, and fundraising strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks and implement effective internal controls and policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit or social services environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles (e.g. GAAP), financial regulations, and best practices. Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical: Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
